  1. Purpose & Process: Open the conversation

    • What will you say to open the conversation and explain its purpose and importance?
    • What ideas will you share for the process of the meeting? What questions will you ask to seek input about the meeting process?
    • What will you say to check readiness to proceed to the next step?

  2. Explore: Seek and share information

    • What valid information and specific examples will you will share about the situation/opportunity?
    • What questions will you ask in order to seek feedback on the information and examples shared?
    • What will you say to seek others' input and understanding of the situation/opportunity?
    • How will you test readiness to proceed to the next step?

  3. Develop: Explore and design solutions and next steps

    • What questions will you ask to encourage development of ideas and solutions?
    • What ideas and solutions will you suggest for this situation/opportunity?
    • How will you ensure that all ideas and suggestions have been fully explored and understood?
    • What will you say to encourage ownership of agreed solutions and next steps?
    • How will you check readiness to proceed to the next step?

  4. Action: Create and commit to a plan

    • What will you ask to confirm the agreed actions and commitments?
    • What details need to be considered for the decisions to be implemented successfully?
    • How and when will you follow up after this conversation?
    • How will agreements and details be documented and by whom?
    • How will you close the conversation?
